Originally built as a
Ferris wheel for the 1964-65 New York
World’s Fair, the Uniroyal Giant Tire sits adjacent to I-94 in Allen
Park,
Mich., and welcomes over 100,000 motorists to the Motor City every day.
Much of
this beloved landmark’s history has been lost over time, until now.
With
interviews from those that were there in the beginning, newly uncovered
information, and never before seen photographs, historian Steven J.
Frey
separates truth from legend, and literally gives us an inside look at
the life
of America’s most iconic roadside landmark and the most successful
single
marketing object ever made.

The U.S. Royal Giant Tire toy was sold as a
souvenier at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair and also at
participating U.S. Royal tire dealers across the county for $2.98.
They were powered by a single
D-cell battery (not included) and featured 18 free-moving gondolas
(baskets/cars) , a US ROYAL sign, and twelve figures (2 sets of 6
unique figures).
Missing
parts to your U.S. Royal Giant Tire Ferris Wheel Toy?
Over the years, most of the
toys' motors have seized, and many of the gondolas have broken off.
Almost all of the figures have been lost, along with most of the signs.
But thanks to modern technology, we can offer replacement parts.
Using 3D modeling software and
3D printing technology, we have created these replacement parts for
your toy, based on original parts. Please note that these parts are in
'as-printed' condition. Buyer is responsible for cleaning all brim
(flashing) material with a hobby knife, file or sandpaper. All parts
are 3D printed in red PLA (Polylactic Acid) made from renewable
sources, non-toxic and biodegradable.

Gondolas
Each gondola is 3D printed and shipped in two halves. After trimming
the brim (flashing), the halves may be joined together using a few
drops of cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) (not included).

each

US
ROYAL Sign
Each sign measures approximately 35 mm x 11 mm and includes the
mounting pegs for an exact fit.
After trimming the brim (flashing), the letters may be painted using white model paint (not included).
